A GSE Team connection!
  • International Committee Charged with finding a project
  • From GSE experience we developed relationship with Lilianna of Portoviejo Reales Tamarindos (PRT) Club
  • Committee asked her to recommend a project that needed partners

Purpose of Project
  • To help a Farmers Association:
  • Expand their coffee growing capacity
  • Provide the means to roast and grind their beans
  • Help them establish & implement a business and marketing plan to sell their finished product

Project Impact

  • Increase the economic return to the farmers


  • Ensure that coffee, which is an ecological match for the soil, will continue to be grown


  • Provide an economically sustainable future for their children

Some Details

  • District 5960 and RI approved matching grant funding;


  • Club Rotario Portoviejo Reales Tamarindos (PRT) is responsible for managing the project, providing training and guidance in administration and ethics;

  • Farmers’ Association invested their own money in project;


  • St. Paul Sunrise & partner clubs’ investment will purchase roasting & grinding equipment and provide technical training.

  • Communicate with PRT club on their progress implementing project with farmers;
  • Continue to explore other opportunities for involvement;
  • Complete Project;
  • Travel to Ecuador to Celebrate!
